As for English teaching,reading occupies a particularly key role to get information.Reading,compared with other language skills,is the foundation of English learning,from which we can tell students’ competence for language.The insistent learning of language points and grammar makes students lose interest in the text itself.Thus reading loses its value but becomes a tool for learning language points.The text materials in most textbooks have not been fully excavated by teachers and students.Excessive emphasis on language points makes students not get real learning and feeling in reading class.and case analysis.Under the trend of reading gradually moving towards rich analysis,text interpretation gradually appears in people’s vision.This study uses the different methods of questionnaire survey,teacher interview and classroom observation to investigate the current situation of reading classroom of teachers and students in a senior high school in Xining step by step in order to discover the problems in reading classroom.Tracing the origin and development of text interpretation,it connects with the in-depth discussion of high school reading text.This paper also discusses the reading teaching strategy under text interpretation.The first part of this paper mainly introduces the reason,purpose and impact of text interpretation research towards teaching.The second part is the theoretical part.Based on the knowledge of literature,it brings out the concepts of text and text interpretation,as well as the research status of text interpretation teaching in English teaching at home and abroad,and traces the relevant theoretical basis of text interpretation,including discourse analysis theory,reading comprehension level theory,schema theory and teaching related theories.The third part investigates the current situation of senior high school classroom through questionnaire,interview and classroom observation design.The fourth part analyzes and concludes shortcomings of English reading class in senior high school through the collection and analysis of data;The fifth part takes the PEP textbook as an example to analyze and interpret the typical texts in the PEP textbook,and puts forward the text interpretation and reading strategies for these problems;The sixth part summarizes the previous chapters in this paper,and proposes the deficiency of this research.
