A Study On The Different Texts Of San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan

San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan is China’s first divine and demonic novel in chapter and verse form,and the language is mostly in the form of dialogue,with more obvious colloquial features,which is very typical of the modern Chinese corpus.In the course of its circulation,the San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan had many editions,which produced a large number of different texts,many of which provide valuable material for the study of the language of the San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan,especially the study of different texts.The article takes the San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan in the Shi De Tang,Tian Xu Zhai and Jia Hui Tang texts as the main sources of information,based on the heterogeneous text itself,a comprehensive examination of the heterogeneous text is conducted at three levels: textual,lexical and sentential,using theoretical knowledge in philology,lexicography and proofreading,and employing a combination of comparative and exhaustive descriptions,quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis,and common time analysis and ephemeral comparisons,to explore the phenomenon of heterogeneous text in a comprehensive and detailed manner.The study revealed that the production of heterogeneous texts is in line with the development of language and writing;from a historical perspective,the vast majority of the variant texts in the San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan are ephemeral variant texts,with only a small number of co-temporal variant texts;from a lexical perspective,the variant texts in different editions and historical periods are influenced by the social customs and dialects of the time and place,and are contemporary and regional in nature.The main causes of the divergent texts in the San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan are differences in the use of words,errors,and changes in the transmission of the text.The study of the dissimilar texts of the San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan is of great academic value to the study of linguistics and proofreading.On the one hand,the different characters,the ancient and modern characters,the different texts of common words and the large number of synonyms provide us with a rich corpus for clarifying the origin of common words,interpreting dialect words and sorting out the evolutionary trajectory of common words;on the other hand,the examination,identification and correction of the different text entries help to improve the proofreading of the text of San Sui Ping Yao Zhuan.
