Qingdao West Coast New Area has a long history and splendid culture,and has advantaged Marine culture resources.Marine culture has a strong attraction to the public.As a new urban area along the coast,the west Coast pays attention to the ocean,pays attention to the comprehensive development of the ocean map,and strives to build a modern ocean new area.This paper takes the ocean theme illustration of the west coast of Qingdao as the design research object,in order to attract the public’s attention to the Marine culture as the purpose,appeals to the public to pay attention to the ocean.With the increasingly mature field of illustration design,its wide range and large demand,has become one of the important means of information dissemination.In this paper,the natural landscape elements and cultural landscape elements of the west coast are taken as the starting point,and the Marine elements are taken as the carrier of illustration to vividly show the mystery of the Marine culture of the west coast.In terms of theory,this paper analyzes and summarizes the theoretical basis of Marine culture and illustration design by referring to relevant research literature and books.Firstly,the paper analyzes the research background,research status at home and abroad,research purpose and significance,research methods and innovation points.Secondly,the Marine culture and the west coast Marine culture are summarized.Finally,the paper analyzes and discusses the application field and target audience of Marine culture theme illustration,and summarizes the significance of illustration in the dissemination of Marine culture in the west coast of Qingdao.In practice,according to the field investigation,combined with the west Coast natural landscape elements and cultural landscape elements,summarized and refined.Create a series of fashionable,with the west Coast local characteristics,impressive Qingdao west Coast ocean theme illustrations.The illustration will be created around the four west coast business cards of "The City of Culture,the island of music,the city of film and television,and the city of beer",so as to show the charm of the ocean culture of Qingdao west Coast.The innovation of this paper lies in the first interpretation of the cultural symbols of the west Coast natural landscape and cultural landscape,and the use of them in the illustration design;Secondly,the colors of ocean elements are summarized and extracted to design a unique interesting and memphis-style ocean culture illustration.Finally,the illustration will be made into GIF,so that it can be promoted online in wechat public account,mini program,website homepage and other ways,to help the Marine culture of Qingdao west Coast spread faster and more widely.The west coast of Qingdao will be built into a modern Marine culture new area with elegant cultural style,profound cultural deposits and thriving cultural industries.
