Painting creation practice is a painter’s subjective thinking combined with the objective world experience,to realize the process of artistic creation,the art of painting language expression are the main body of subjective and objective existence of the cross of many factors,and the artist’s subjective factors,namely reason and instinct,is the key to painting creation practice and art language performance,And deeply affects the results of painting art practice--the dimension of painting work and the depth and breadth of artistic language expression.Throughout the art history of painting,rationality and instinct not only affect the artistic creation and practice of artists,but also one of the important factors for the formation of the styles and artistic ideas of different painting schools,and determine the painting styles and styles created by different painting schools and artists.There is no doubt that each painter’s creation idea cannot leave the reason and instinct,using rational,instinct repeatedly gazing at its feature of creative thinking,appreciate the objective world,and produce,construct the different painting styles and genres,different style of painting in the so-called painter individuals involved in understanding and experience of the dimensions of the objective world and the breakthrough point,In different stages of history,the subject has different breadth and depth of thinking cognition to the object,and rationality and instinct have different functions and expressions in the process of artistic creation and practice.Based on reason and instinct influence on various painting styles and genres,comply with the laws of the history of art,this article from the representation to show the direction of the selected four typical characteristics of art painting genre analysis and discussion,the classical style,new impressionism,surrealism and abstract expressionism,This thesis attempts to discuss the rational and instinctive factors in western oil painting from the psychological dimension and excavate their specific functions in the practice and style expression of oil painting art.Oil painting was born in the 15th century in Holland,Jan Van Eyck(1385-1441)made a key step in the formation of oil painting by mixing dry oil with the traditional water-based Tempera.After 600 years of development,oil painting has formed a profound artistic language and form of expression in the West,becoming one of the most important forms of artistic expression in the West.Although oil painting from the Italian missionary Matteo Ricci(1552—1610)was introduced into China more than four hundred years ago,but its spread and development in China is still relatively lags behind,today’s development of Chinese oil painting has entered the phase of multi-dimensional study,practice writing,one of the most important is to realize the oil painting art language combined with Chinese national features as a development direction.Nowadays,the artistic thinking and expression form of Chinese oil painting need to be explored from multiple angles,inherit Chinese characteristics and Chinese aesthetics,and use the carrier of oil painting art language to create works with distinctive national cultural characteristics and reflect national aesthetic values and concepts,so as to realize the cultural identity transformation and identity confirmation of Chinese oil painting art.In order to make the western oil painting art language and Chinese characteristic culture perfect integration,it is necessary for artists from different dimensions and perspectives,analyze the various factors in the context of western oil painting creation,clarify the essential elements of western oil painting art language composition,so as to provide a breakthrough point for the nationalization of oil painting art.I hope that this thesis will provide ideas for the author’s future creative practice and artistic ideal,and improve their artistic creation level;It is also hoped that through the analysis of the rationality and instinct in the works of painters of different styles,we can understand its influence on the performance effect of picture art,provide ideas for the creation practice of artists,and provide some ideas and aesthetic perspectives for the appreciator of art.
