In the 1940s and 1950s,abstract Expressionism was in the ascendant. After this genre first appeared on the world art stage,it became the first innovative movement in American art history to step into the field of modern art.Its roots can be traced back to the surrealism school represented by Hans Alp and Juan Miro in the early 20th century.Due to the influence of war and existentialism philosophy, the value of individualism of artists has been unprecedented.it began to stir up waves in the field of art and culture.Although their artistic styles are very different, they share inheriting common experiences and cultural beliefs of similarity with each other, and advocate the instinctive drive to rebuild the inner connection between individuals and the deep "unconscious".Jackson Pollock is an influential contemporary American artist and a leading force in the abstract Expressionism movement.Driven by the historical and cultural context,he believed that the creation behavior guided by the"unconscious" psychology could liberate the imprisoned thoughts from the repressed mind,so as to achieve extreme emotional catharsis and self-breakthrough.As a result,Pollock’s unconventional ideas led to a series of new and more radical explorations, which not only made the United States the home of avant-garde art in the second half of the 20th century, but also further reflected the changing trajectory of American values and real life in many of his works. This paper intends to take the theories related to "unconsciousness" in psychology as the theoretical basis, combined with the theories and methods of art psychology, take Pollock’s paintings as the research object, and try to systematically elaborate the characteristics of "unconsciousness" in artistic creation through the study of "unconsciousness" psychology in Pollock’s paintings. In this way,it reveals some internal factors that people hide deep in their hearts and affect the development of personality,so as to explore a self-healing road for the depressed people. At the same time,it is also expected to provide a new perspective for art creators and related art theory researchers, and provide certain reference for the subsequent artistic creation and theoretical research. The article is mainly composed of the following four chapters:The first chapter analyzes the concept of "unconsciousness" and further explores the correlation between artistic creation and "unconsciousness",laying the foundation for the research of the following chapters. The second chapter uses the theory of psychological type and personality structure to analyze Pollock’s internal psychological type and the external inducement of his "unconscious" psychology, and finds out the motive force of his creation. The third chapter explores Pollock’s self-discovery and self-healing in "unconscious" psychology on the basis of his specific painting performance in artistic creation. The fourth chapter studies from the aspects of creation subject, aesthetic subject and social level, summarizes the landmark influence and value of Pollock’s paintings in the world art history under the"unconscious" psychology, and explores the inspiration and guiding significance of his works to people’s real life. |
