to win the Nobel Prize for literature after Indian poet Tagore.Nature and women are two key words in Kawabata Yasunari’s literary works.Kawabata Yasunari makes a detailed observation of nature and women with his unique perceptual ability, and describes the beauty of nature and women through delicate and fresh writing. It can be said that Kawabata Yasunari’s love and thought, sadness and beauty are all expressed in nature and women. Therefore,in previous studies,Kawabata Yasunari is often regarded as a writer with eco feminist consciousness. But the author found that this understanding is actually one-sided.On the one hand, previous studies lack the discrimination of eco feminism, and only discuss that Kawabata Yasunari’s text is rich in eco feminism from the level of "origin isomorphism" between nature and women. However, the lack of "origin isomorphism" implies the in-depth thinking of the construction level of male chauvinism culture on women,so it has limitations. This paper attempts to jump out of the cultural ecological feminist criticism position of "origin isomorphism",and re interpret Kawabata Yasunari’s works from the perspective of social ecological feminist criticism of "oppression isomorphism".The first part of this paper is the introduction. The author will introduce Kawabata Yasunari and the theory of ecological feminism to pave the way for the later discussion.Ecological feminism is produced under the social background of ecological crisis and gender discrimination.Based on feminism, deep ecology and postmodernism,it points out that there is "isomorphism" between nature and women. There are differences between cultural ecological feminism and social ecological feminism as to whether this "isomorphism" is "congenital" or "acquired".The author will sort out the theoretical origin of ecological feminism, discriminate between cultural ecological feminism and social ecological feminism, and clarify the critical position of social ecological feminism. The second part of this paper is the first chapter. The author will reveal the value and limitations of Kawabata Yasunari’s literary works with the ecological feminist view of "origin isomorphism".Cultural ecological feminism advocates attaching importance to female wisdom and restoring female care ethics, and social ecological feminism also recognizes its value. In Kawabata Yasunari’s works, the non centralized aesthetic value produced by the integration of nature and women and the embodiment of the ethical value of caring for women do have its positive side. But behind its value,we should also be alert to the concealment of constructing "femininity" with patriarchal culture in male writers’ works. The third part of this paper is the second chapter. The author will interpret Kawabata Yasunari’s works from the standpoint of social ecological feminism of "oppression isomorphism".This paper mainly discusses the expression of "oppression isomorphism" between nature and women in Kawabata Yasunari’s literature from two aspects: the objective presentation of the text content and the limitations of male writers. On the one hand,Kawabata Yasunari’s text objectively presents various forms of violent oppression suffered by women and nature in public space,"home space" and body space, which provides literary materials for us to understand "oppression isomorphism".On the other hand, most of Kawabata Yasunari’s works take men as the narrative perspective, and the image of women needs to be presented through men’s "gaze".Women’s bodies are often absent, women’s sexual desire has become a "Lyric taboo",and women can only become the "other" to meet the imagination of male writers. The fourth part of this paper is the third chapter. The author will investigate Kawabata Yasunari’s view of nature and women, and point out that Kawabata Yasunari pursues the monistic view of nature of "unity of heaven and man" and practices the "binary opposition" view of women, which is a manifestation of the lack of "overlapping" vision advocated by ecological feminism. Therefore, strictly speaking,Kawabata Yasunari’s thought actually deviates from social ecological feminism. The conclusion of this paper summarizes the previous article and puts forward the reading concept of "resistance reader".In the past, eco feminist theory was more applied to the critical practice of female writers, but lacked the criticism and Reflection on male writers. The author believes that the interpretation of Kawabata Yasunari’s literary text with ecological feminism can enable us to re understand the value and limitations of Kawabata Yasunari’s works from a new perspective. It also reveals that under the appearance of Kawabata Yasunari’s seemingly ecological feminist consciousness,he is actually the "gaze" and imagination of women as a male writer. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Kawabata Yasunari, ecofeminism, "origin isomorphism", "oppression isomorphism", View of nature, Female view |
