Kawabata Yasunari was the first Japanese writer who won the Nobel Prize in literature. Because of the special growth environment and influence of strong Zen Culture in Japan, Kawabata’s novels showed bright color of Zen.Kawabata Yasunari has been pursuing tragic beauty all his life. Because of the lonely orphan background, combined with the influence of Zen thought, his novels show both of the traditional beauty and the beauty of Zen Culture at the same time, which had unique literary charm and was very outstanding literature in the literature history in Japan and even in the world. The traces of the Zen thoughts, such as "Nothingness", "tragic beauty", "born of bit" and "pornographic and empty ", which we can see everywhere in his novels works. His disillusionment and death life philosophy, pure and clean natural beauty and maternal women view showed through the beginning to the end of the work content and artistic style.In Kawabata Yasunari’s masterpieces, such as "Snow Country", "Izu Dancer" and "Thousand Cranes" and so on, in which view of nature, view of life and view of women about profound Zen Culture can be found everywhere. After drawing on the rich Zen thoughts of Japan, Kawabata’s novels had a wonderful chemical reaction and became literary works with highly artistic values through its unique artistic processing and mixture with Japanese traditional literature, which left valuable literature wealth and spiritual wealth for the later generations. Through digging the Zen thoughts form contents and artistic creations of Kawabata’s novels, which is not only beneficial to enrich the diversity of the research, but also to understand Zen theme of their works and helps us to get real spiritual freedom and happniess from Kawabata Yasunari’s literature.
