A Study Of Identity In Israeli Films On Youth And Children

In the early 20th-century Jewish cinematic history,there are already images of Zionists building a utopian homeland in Palestine through the lens of youth and children.After a short period of exploration,Israeli cinema has continued to develop since the 1960 s,and juveniles as the object of film performance not only correspond to the young builders in history,but also symbolize the early stage of development of a country and the cohesion of national rebirth.With the continuous changes in the international environment,the cultural trend of Israeli society has shown a violent collision and exploration,and the image of juveniles has been further enriched with the development of this pluralism,which has both the exploration of human nature and the metaphor of politicization,which also reflects the demand for identity consciousness and the effort to seek national identity with the development of society.Under the highly complex surface of Israeli social development,the understanding of how Israeli youth and children are represented in relevant films can help to become familiar with the development of identity in Israeli culture,especially the different attempts given by contemporary people to answer "who is Israeli?",and further to understand the historical,cultural,and psychological factors behind appearances.This study selects some representative films on youth and children themes from the founding of Israel in 1948 to the beginning of the 21 st century,focusing on the correspondence between the selected films and the development of identity.First of all,,at the level of careful reading of film texts,it is found how personal identity is reflected in juvenile films,and the historical and cultural characteristics of minors’ personal identity are understood in combination with narrative on the basis of the current research on Israeli film culture at home and abroad and combined with the historical and cultural development of Israeli films;next,on the basis of the current research on Israeli film culture at home and abroad,combined with the historical and cultural development of Israeli films,this research will analyze the relationship between juvenile films and group identity,understand the impact and shaping of important historical events on identity,and finally,in the historical background of multicultural development,it will further sort out the national identity in juvenile films.Combined with the identity analysis at all levels,it will finally form a holistic understanding of the presentation and construction of identity clues in youth and children films.
