Practice Report On Interpretation And Translation In Interrogations Involving Vietnamese Under The Strategy Of Reformulation

In recent years,there is a significant growth rate in illegal activities such illegal immigration,residency and employment of Vietnamese people especially in the Pearl River Delta area.The public security and legal departments in Guangdong province are under a sharp increase in the demand for Vietnamese interpreters.Translation of cases involving Vietnamese is professional and difficult,but few scholars have presented the translation skills and strategies in this field.As one of the important interpreting skills recognized by many scholars at home and abroad,reformulation has been mainly used in the process of receiving,remembering,and then translating the output information.From the strategy of reformulation,this article summarizes the strategies and methods of translating interrogation statements into Vietnamese based on the interrogation interpretation task of a police station in Zhongshan city,Guangdong Province.At the same time,the use of this strategy also has some risks.Interpreters should carefully consider the hierarchical relationship of information in combination with the questioning skills and methods of the police,so as to avoid neglecting details due to compelling personal subjective awareness.
