| The English Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(revised in 2020,2017edition)points out that the general goal of English curriculum for senior high schools is to fully implement the Party’s educational policy,cultivate and Practice Socialist Core Values,realize the fundamental task of Li ding morality and cultivating people,and further promote the development of students’ core English literacy on the basis of compulsory education.To train socialist builders and successors with Chinese feelings,international vision and cross-cultural communication skills.Therefore,it is a general trend to combine ideological and political education with subject teaching,and English subject in senior high school is no exception.This study takes the socialist core values and curriculum ideological and political as the breakthrough point,aims to explore the ideological and political elements in senior high school English textbooks,and provides suggestions for textbook compilers to compile textbooks and teachers to apply textbooks.This study defines curriculum ideological and political education as the integration of ideological and political education into all aspects of curriculum teaching and reform,so as to realize the subtle influence of moral education.The ideological and political elements of the curriculum described in this study refer to the contents contained in the Reading section of the compulsory volume 1-5 of English for senior high schools published by People’s Education Press,which embody the socialist core values,help students correctly understand themselves,help students stimulate patriotism,and help students expand their international horizons.In this study,the Framework System of Core Literacy for Middle School Students,which was published in 2016 to implement socialist core values,was used as the collection and classification criteria.Core literacy is divided into three aspects: cultural foundation,independent development and social participation.Humanistic connotation,scientific spirit,learning to learn,healthy life,responsibility and practical innovation.On the basis of Marx’s overall development view,humanism education theory and recessive education theory,this study selects the Reading section of each unit of the required volume 1-5 of English for senior high school published by People’s Education Press as the research object,and studies the following two problems by means of literature data,text analysis and classification.(1)What are the ideological and political elements of the curriculum in the Reading section of the compulsory high school English of PEP?(2)What is the distribution of the ideological and political elements in the Reading section of PEP Senior High School English Compulsory Books 1-5 in the classification system adopted in this study? The results show that:(1)There are many ideological and political elements in the Reading section of PEP Senior High School English Compulsory Volume 1-5,such as responsibility,healthy life,humanities and so on,and a total of 76 specific ideological and political elements are excavated.(2)The distribution of the ideological and political elements in the Reading section of PEP Senior High School English Compulsory Book 1-5 is uneven in the classification system adopted in this study.From the external point of view of horizontal dimension,the distribution of ideological and political elements in curriculum is uneven,there are more ideological and political elements in curriculum under the level of social participation,and there are fewer ideological and politica l elements in curriculum under the level of cultural basis and independent development;From the internal point of view of horizontal dimension,the distribution of ideological and political elements in social participation level and cultural foundation level is uneven,while the distribution of ideological and political elements in independent development level is relatively uniform.From the external point of view of the vertical dimension,the distribution of the ideological and political elements of the curriculum is uneven,the ideological and political elements of the compulsory four Reading section are the most,the compulsory three and five Reading sections are more,the compulsory one Reading section is less,and the compulsory two Reading section is the least;From the internal point of view of the vertical dimension,the distribution of the ideological and political elements in the compulsory one,compulsory two and compulsory four Reading sections is relatively uniform,while the distribution of the ideological and political elements in the compulsory three and compulsory five Reading sections is relatively uneven.To sum up,it is feasible to implement the ideological and political education of the curriculum by using the Reading section of the compulsory volumes 1-5 of the senior high school English published by the People’s Education Press,and the balance of the horizontal and vertical distribution of the ideological and political elements in the Reading section of the compulsory volumes 1-5 of the senior high school English published by the People’s Education Press needs to be further improved.Textbook compilers should increase the ideological and political elements of curriculum under the level of independent development and cultural foundation in textbooks,and scientifically lay out the ideological and political elements of curriculum to adapt to the characteristics of students’ cognitive development.Teachers should enhance the ideological and political awareness of curriculum,fully tap the ideological and political elements of curriculum in textbooks,and pay attention to the combination of ideological and political elements and teaching. |
