| With social and economic development and the emergence of new issues such as an ageing population, new problems such as disorderly service venues, inefficient services and low satisfaction levels have emerged within general hospital outpatient departments. As the first major medium to provide services to patients within a medical institution, improving the service capacity of the guidance system is an important way to solve the existing problems. This study is based on a cross-disciplinary approach, using both basic theoretical analysis and empirical evidence. The concept of "universal design" is integrated into the design of the orientation of general hospital outpatient departments, and six principles of universal design(accessibility, imaginability, inclusiveness, recognisability, systematicity and standardisation)are initially developed to better fit the characteristics of outpatient clinics. After sorting out the existing theoretical framework, the research and empirical evidence will be carried out to analyse the problems in the existing guiding system,to coordinate and solve the various contradictions in the design as far as possible, and to propose a more feasible design strategy and recommendation for the universal guiding system. To further expand the scope of application of the guidance system, the guidance function is further improved to achieve maximum efficiency. This paper is divided into 6 chapters on the theme of universal design of guidance system in general hospitals, and is divided into 3 steps: problem identification, problem analysis and problem solving.Firstly, the purpose and significance of this research is explained by explaining the background of the topic, and sorting out the basic theoretical concepts and development of hospital guidance system and universal design. The study explores the design principles of guiding systems in the context of universal design and the spatial characteristics of general hospital outpatient clinics, analyses the characteristics of general hospital outpatient clinics and the flow of medical treatment, explores the needs of different people in terms of usage and wayfinding, and clarifies the concern of universal design for different people.Secondly,a combination of questionnaires, observations and interviews are used to investigate the fieldwork and perceptions of the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University and the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University as examples. From the perspective of the concept of universal design, the specific problems of the guidance system in the outpatient space of the general hospital are analysed, the countermeasures of universal design for the guidance system are explored, and a suitable point for solving the current problems is sought. Finally, through field surveys and cognitive research in three sample hospitals, the six universal design principles applicable to the outpatient departments of general hospitals are combined with the concept of "five senses",and the universal design optimisation strategies of the guidance system are elaborated from the following three levels:(1)Basic elements:First, from the visual aspect of Firstly, from the visual aspect,"text, graphics, colour and layout design";secondly, from the auditory aspect,"broadcast sound field, broadcast grammatical order and information transmission";thirdly, from the tactile aspect,"visual touch(2)Spatial arrangement level: from the grading, location, quantity and scale of the signage system,to further expand the application of the guidance system;(3)New technology level: through the combination of new technology and new materials, and linkage with the service system,to achieve the diversity and intelligence of the guidance system. |
