The author has been involved in percussion since the age of ten,and joined the symphony orchestra as a percussionist in junior high school.He has worked with various professional and non-professional,Western orchestras and Chinese national orchestras.Thus,he has accumulated extremely rich experience in percussion performance.At the same time,the author is majorin orchestra conducting,so he is able to understand percussion from the conductor’s perspective.Therefore,the author hopes that this paper can provide some theoretical help for the study and work of conductors,open a window for conductor students to understand the percussion section,and play a reference role in future rehearsals.This thesis is divided into three chapters: the first chapter explains the role of percussion in the orchestra,including the introduction and classification of percussion instruments,their placement in the orchestra and their performance characteristics;the second chapter presents the difficulties of percussion performance in the orchestra and their solutions,as well as discussing the connection between percussion and conducting;the third chapter summarises the ways in which a conductor can reasonably and efficiently rehearse a percussion section;finally,it concludes that only by applying theory to practice,and in practice,can a percussion section be rehearsed.The thesis aims that only by applying theory to practice and refining it in practice can one continuously improve his abilities. |
