A Study Of Zhang Jin Yan’s Ningguta Landscape Records In Qing Dynasty

Ningguta Landscape Records is the first landscape book in Ningguta area,mainly recording what Zhang Jinyan,an exiled scholar in the Ming and Qing dynasties,saw and heard during his more than ten years of life in Ningguta area.The book aims to propagandize Ningguta’s beautiful landscape and simple folklore to the world from the perspective of a novel landscape,so as to reshape the beautiful frontier image of the Ningguta area and strengthen the cultural identity of Ningguta people in the customs.The book describes the source of Ningguta area monuments,landscape scenery,customs and folklore.After Zhang Jinyan’s death,the book was compiled and published by his son Zhang Yuchang and his descendant Liu Ziyun.The publication of Ningguta Landscape Records finally made the image of the Ningguta area less scary and secretive,and deepened the understanding,recognition and aspiration of the people in the area.In this paper,we study and analyze the history of Ningguta Landscape Records,combine Zhang Jinyan’s life to sort out the different ways of Ming and Qing dynasties to Ningguta,describe the regional changes in Ningguta with the change of regime,so as to summarize the historical development of Ningguta,and on this basis,we further analyze the real historical significance of Ningguta Landscape Records.This paper analyzes Zhang Jinyan and the Ningguta Landscape Records in four parts.The first chapter is an introduction,which summarizes the literature available so far,explains the basis of this paper and the significance of the research,and compares the current situation of domestic and foreign research.The second chapter mainly discusses the history of Ningguta in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties,Zhang Jinyan’s personal life,the book "Ningguta Landscape Records" and its circulation,and then explains the background of the compilation of Ningguta Landscape Records.The third chapter explains the main contents and ideas of Ningguta Landscape Records from the perspective of regional cultural construction.Chapter four focuses on the reflection and influence of Ningguta Landscape Records as a local history on the urbanization process of Ningguta in the Qing Dynasty.Zhang Jinyan and his group of exiles sought self-identity through the landscape,and the local history represented by the "Ningguta Landscape Records" took up the mission of writing the history and culture of the Ningguta area,reshaping the image of the Ningguta area and promoting the communication and integration of Ningguta with the Central Plains culture.
