| This report is based on the consecutive interpreting of a guiding tour to Shandong Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine,established in 2015.On July 6,2021,as an escorting interpreter to two foreign visitors,the interpreter is responsible for interpreting the narratives in the Collection Room of SDUTCM History on the third floor and that of Life Science and Technology Collection Room on the fourth floor.The tour lasts for about 2 hours and receives compliments for the guests.This report is divided into five parts: the first is task description,involving the background and significant of this task,and the requirements of the entruster.The second part is process description,which mainly introduces the process of preparation before and during interpreting,along with of which proofreading and feedback.The third part is theoretical analysis,which focuses on the Triangle Model of Interpretive Theory and its guiding role in this interpreting practice.The fourth part is case study,which illustrates with examples appropriate and effective interpreting strategies based on listening comprehension,de-verbalization and re-expression in the practice,like visualization,chunking,addition,omission,etc.The fifth part is the conclusion,which summarizes the harvest of this interpreting practice and after-thoughts,and puts forward valuable suggestions on interpreting practices of this sort. |
