With the continuous development of modern teaching technology,more and more attention has been paid to the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.Various kinds of audio-visual teaching materials are gradually increasing,but the quality is uneven.In the study of Teaching Materials for Chinese as a Foreign Language,research on Chinese audio-visual teaching materials is also relatively weak.Many representative materials have not been studied in depth.With the advent of the information age and the continuous development of Internet technology,it has become an inevitable trend to use modern teaching techniques to teach,so it is very meaningful to study Chinese audio-visual teaching materials.The thesis takes the intermediate and advanced Chinese audio-visual textbook "Home with kids" as the research object,starts with the pedagogy theory,second language acquisition theory,the theory of textbook evaluation,and we use analytical and inductive methods,interview methods,and questionnaires to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the paper textbook and video part of "Home with kids".The analysis of the paper part of the textbook covers the introduction of the textbook,preparation concept,layout,and content of the textbook,while the analysis of the video part of the textbook starts from two aspects: video format and video content.Based on the above analysis,combined with the feedback from teachers and learners on the actual use of the textbook,I summarize the strengths and weaknesses of the textbook,and make suggestions for the improvement of the textbook,from both the paper textbook and the video part,so that the textbook can better serve the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.There are many suggestions for improvement.For example,enriching the publication format of teaching materials;enriching the content of the preface and table of contents of the textbook.;controlling the total amount of vocabulary,reducing the proportion of superlatives,and increasing the semantic meaning of raw word interpretations.;enriching topics of the text;balancing the number of language points,increasing the number of explanations and examples,improving the quality of translation;the content of "Culture Points" should be up-to-date,the title of "Culture Points" should be positive,and the illustrations of "Culture Points" should match the content;trying to balance the number of questions between lessons and standardize the instruction language for practice questions;update the storage format of the video and improve the picture quality;there is still room for improvement in the video content.Try to balance the number of questions between lessons and standardize the command language of practice questions;update the video storage format and improve the picture quality;there is still room for improvement in the video content.And I also hope to provide some thoughts and references for the development of Chinese audio-visual materials in the same category.
