The audio-visual class is one of the focuses of research in foreign language teaching at present, but the interior research in teaching Chinese as a foreign language is far from enough, and of course so does in practice. The materials publicized inland are suitable for advanced overseas students. Besides, materials adopted by teachers themselves are appropriate for those students basically, too. Comparatively speaking, it is difficult for intermediate-stage audio-visual class to find applicable materials.The thesis demonstrates the value of Cartoon《Da Er Duo TuTu》as materials of teaching Chinese as a foreign language from content, vocabulary and functions; and designs the teaching according to "Nine events of instruction" of Robert Mills Gagne as well as Cartoon《Da Er Duo TuTu》The thesis includes five chapters totally.Chapter One is introduction. It introduces the reasons of choosing the subject, the importance of the audio-visual teaching and the status quo of research in this field inland and overseas. It also explains the reasons why Cartoon《Da Er Duo TuTu》can be the complementary materials of the intermediate-stage audio-visual class. Meanwhile, it reviews the situations of audio-visual teaching researches in China and Korea.Chapter Two introduces the definition, importance and the theoretical basis of audio-visual teaching. The basis includes the audio-visual teaching theory, the multi-media teaching theory and the Cone of Experience Theory of Edgar Dale.Chapter Three introduces the value analysis of Cartoon《Da Er Duo TuTu》as audio-visual materials of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. It firstly explains the reasons of choosing the cartoon as materials from content, vocabulary and functions, then analyses its value as audio-visual materials of teaching Chinese as a foreign language from content and language.Chapter Four describes the teaching link of Cartoon《Da Er Duo TuTu》based on "nine events of instruction" of Robert Mills Gagne, and designs the class cases of Cartoon《Da Er Duo TuTu》as audio-visual materials. Chapter Five is Conclusion. It makes a brief summary of research findings of this thesis and describes the problems which need to be studied continuously.
