Abstract/Summary:
Pro-organizational unethical behavior refers to the behavior of individuals who intentionally violate the moral principles, statutes and guidelines of the society or organization for the common interests of their group or organization members in order to maintain or expand the rights and interests of the organization.Previous studies of domestic and foreign have focused on the pro-organizational unethical behavior of adults in social work and other social groups, and lacked attention to the pro-organizational unethical behavior of children and adolescents. Therefore, this study mainly takes children and adolescents as the research object, and focuses on the developmental characteristics and influencing factors of adolescents’ pro-organizational unethical behavior through questionnaire method, situational test method and interview method. It is divided into three studies.Study 1 passed questionnaire method to examine the developmental characteristics of adolescents’ pro-organizational immoral behavior with the 720 adolescents as research object. The results showed that the main effect of grade was significant(p<0.05),the score of the sixth grade was significantly higher than that of the fifth-grader,eighth-grader,high school freshman,sophomore(p<0.05),and the score of the high school sophomore was significantly higher than that of sixth form(p<0.05).Study 2 used the situational test method, with 840 adolescents as research object using a 2(situation: completely altruistic, taking into account self-interest)* 7(grade:fifth-grader,sixth form,seventh-grader,eighth-grader,high school freshman, high school sophomore and university)two-factor between-subjects design was used to examine the influence of situational factors on adolescents’ decision-making on pro-organizational unethical behavior. The results showed that the main effect of grade on pro-organizational unethical behavior decision-making was significant(p<0.05);The main effect of the situation type was significant(p<0.05);The interaction effect of grade and situation type was significant(p<0.05),and the further simple effect showed that there was no significant difference in the decision-making scores of the research objects from the fifth-grader to the high school sophomore in the completely altruistic and self-interested situations, however, there was a significant difference in decision-making scores of the college research objects in the completely altruistic and taking into account self-interest situation(p<0.05).In Study 3,840 adolescents were used as subjects to examine the influence of adolescents on cognition of other peoples’ pro-organizational unethical behavior. The research design and method were the same as in Study 2.The results found that the main effect of grade on the judgment of pro-organizational unethical behavior was significant(p<0.05).;And the main effect of situation type was not significant(p>0.05).;The interaction effect of grade and situation type was not significant(p>0.05).Based on the above results, this study draws the following conclusions:(1)The developmental characteristics of pro-organizational unethical behaviors among Chinese adolescents have age differences. From the fifth-grader to the university, the overall development of adolescents’ unethical pro-organizational behavior showed a trend of first rising, then falling, then rising and falling again. Two turning points occurred between the sixth form and the eighth-grader,and between the high school sophomore and university.(2)Adolescents’ pro-organizational unethical behaviors are affected by situational factors.Compared with situations in which their own interests are taken into consideration, adolescents are more likely to take pro-organizational unethical behaviors in consideration of the collective interests, and college students’ pro-organizational unethical behaviors more obvious.(3)Overall,adolescents have a negative attitude towards the cognition of others’ pro-organizational unethical behavior, and there are age differences, but their cognition is not affected by situational factors,Compared with other grades, sixth form students have a more negative attitude toward pro-organizational unethical behavior by others。...
