A Study Of Su Shi’s Running Script Style In His Late Period

As the leader of "Shangyi" calligraphy style,Su Shi has a milestone status in the history of calligraphy.Su Shi’s writing styles are diverse,and he has different styles at all stages of his life.Su Shi’s style of running script after the first year of Shaosheng is better than before.Significant changes have taken place,so the study time of this article is defined between the first year of Shaosheng(1094)and the first year of Jianzhong Jingguo(1101)when Su Shi passed away.In this article,Su Shi’s late running script refers to this period.The technique and style characteristics of Su Shi’s running script gradually became simple and plain after the first year of Shaosheng.This change was influenced by subjective and objective factors such as religion,personal experience,geographical environment,etc.The first part of this article will discuss in detail The reason for this change;The second part specifically analyzes Su Shi’s later running script techniques and style characteristics;the third part will start from the writing,character,and composition aspects,expounding the author’s study and practice of Su Shi’s late running script,as well as in the study Thinking in the process.The characteristics of Su Shi’s running script in his later period were developed from his previous styles,so when the third part is unfolded,the previous techniques and style characteristics will also be discussed.
