A Study On The Interaction Between Frequency Sdverbs And Verbs In Modern Chinese

In this paper,Mandarin Chinese frequency adverbs are divided into restrictive frequency adverbs and descriptive frequency adverbs according to their expressive functions.On this basis,we have divided the restrictive frequency adverbs into high、medium、low,and divided the descriptive frequency adverbs into dynamic and static.Therefore,We have built a new frequency adverbs classification framework.This paper examines the collocation of the internal members of frequency adverbs and verbs in Mandarin Chinese from the perspectives of semantic features,tense and aspect features and form features of verbs.This paper analyzes the combination of frequency adverbs and different sub-classes of verbs from the perspective of semantic features of verbs.It is found in this paper that the restrictive frequency adverbs can be combined with all kinds of verbs,but the conditions for combining with the attribute verbs are strict.The selection sequence formed by the different combinations of the frequency adverbs and various verbs is as follows:attribute verb> state verb>inflexible verb> action verbThis paper analyzes the distribution of frequency adverbs in sentences expressing time and the combination of frequency adverbs and dynamic auxiliary from the perspective of the tense and aspect characteristics of verbs.It is found in this paper that the frequency adverbs can appear in sentences expressing past time and present time,but almost do not appear in sentences expressing future time.Moreover,there are also differences in the combination of frequency adverbs and dynamic auxiliary,and the selection sequence formed by them is as follows:guo>le>zheThis paper analyzes the combination of frequency adverbs with verbs used alone,the reduplicated verbs and the verb-complement phrases with number from the form characteristics of verbs.This paper finds that the descriptive frequency adverbs are mostly combined with the action verbs,the speech verbs and the physiological activity verbs due to semantic limitations.The restrictive frequency adverbs have strict collocation requirements with these three types of verbs due to semantic restrictions.Except“ shishi、bushi、shibushi”,moderate frequency adverbs,high frequency adverbs and descriptive frequency adverbs have strict collocation requirements with a small amount of verb-complement phrases.Low-frequency adverbs and descriptive frequency adverbs “shishi 、 bushi 、 shibushi” have relatively loose collocation requirements for expressing a small amount of verb-complement phrases.The restrictive frequency adverbs and the descriptive frequency adverbs “shishi、bushi、shibushi” can be combined with the reduplicated verbs,but other descriptive frequency adverbs cannot be combined with them.Therefore,the duality of the expression function of “shishi、bushi、shibushi” is confirmed through the above.
