Kang Youwei’s Thought And Practice Of Stele Study And Its Contemporary Influence

Under the feudal system,in order to gain fame,literati would spend their whole life to learn to write those lifeless and lifeless "Guange style".In the late Qing Dynasty,the unearthed gold and stone made the writing style of most calligraphers lose some lyricism and artistry.Many literati began to advocate stele learning,and Kang Youwei was one of them.He is a person who combines theory with practice.He not only boldly put forward the viewpoint of "respecting stele and restraining calligraphy" from the perspective of calligraphy theory,but also made a comprehensive arrangement and exploration of Beibei stele school.In practice,he integrated stele style into calligraphy art and created a unique style of "healthy style",which promoted the stele movement to the peak.This paper analyzes the calligraphy works in contemporary exhibitions,focusing on the influence of Kang Youwei’s calligraphy style on contemporary calligraphers’ creation and the influence on the author.There are also many papers on Kang Youwei in modern and contemporary times,and the available materials are also very rich.However,the influence of Kang Youwei’s Stele Study Thought on contemporary calligraphers has not been mentioned in the available articles.Therefore,the author selects the 12 th National Exhibition as the most influential platform to explore a group of contemporary calligraphers influenced by Kang Youwei’s Stele Study Style,How did they integrate stele learning into their own writing style and show it.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter introduces Kang Youwei’s artistic experience,the formation and development of his calligraphy style;In the second chapter,through the excavation of Kang Youwei’s stele theory,the characteristics and writing methods of Kang’s calligraphy style are summarized;The third chapter analyzes the works of the authors affected by Kang Youwei in the 12 th National Exhibition,from which we can understand the influence of Kang Youwei’s calligraphy style on contemporary calligraphy.The fourth chapter,through the author’s own copying and creation,summarizes what Linxi Kang Youwei thinks and gains in the process of calligraphy works,combined with his own calligraphy creation,discusses the creative thinking of Kangti calligraphy style in the process of practice.Artistic creation is essentially a special aesthetic creation,which should be integrated with the author’s true feelings.Artistic creation endows the work with its own spirituality,so that the work can truly reflect its artistic value.
