On The Emotional Changes In And Performance Of The Piano Variation Of“The Girl Carrying The Water”

The folk song piano variation is a combination of Chinese folk music and western piano art,and plays a pivotal role in Chinese piano music.The Girl Carrying the Water,the only piano variation in Yan Huang Feng Qing-Twenty-four Chinese Folk Songs Theme Piano Pieces,touches the heart of people with its music ups and downs and rich emotional changes.This paper analyzes the emotional changes of the works through music analysis and draws some inspirations based on the author’s own playing experiences: to clarify the musical image and emotional characteristics of each variation;to grasp the way to handle the melody lines and to strengthen the emotional experience in piano performance.In a word,this paper aims to communicate with other performers and achieve more refined and expressive performance effect.
