| This practice report describes a simultaneous interpreting task of an English video on drones,a task that the author received during his internship. At present, the application of drones has a profound impact on modern military operations, which is expanding from traditional combat missions to multiple fields. The task can provide a reference for the practical application of drones in our army and the formulation of anti-drone programs. At the same time, given the peculiarity of this interpreting practice, the author tries to guide this interpreting practice with the Noise Theory of Communication Science. This report consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction, including the research background, significance, and challenges of the task, and framework of the report. The second part introduces the author’s preparations after accepting the interpreting task, the process of the interpreting, and the evaluation after the task. The third part is centered on the Noise Theory of Communication Science and divides the noise generated in the interpreting process into four categories, namely semantic noise, physical noise, physiological noise, and psychological noise. The fourth part is case analysis. The author analyzes examples concerning the aforementioned four types of noise generated during the interpreting process with the help of the Noise Theory and puts forward specific interpreting methods to eliminate “noise” interference. The last part is conclusion which summarizes the significance of the Noise Theory of Communication Science in guiding English video interpreting.Through case analysis, this report shows that the Noise Theory of Communication Science can be a useful tool, which can help to eliminate “noise” interference and make it easier for the audience to understand the source language information. These interpreting methods summarized in this report might be extended to other specific interpreting practices, helping interpreters to flexibly handle the process of interpreting and achieve the goal of communication. |
