The outbreak of the Covid-19 in 2020 has changed the way people communicate,and teleconferencing has become an indispensable part of work and life.Some foreign universities offer in-service master and doctor courses every summer and winter vacation.However,in early July,due to the outbreak of Covid-19,offline courses were replaced by remote video courses.In this course,the author acted as the class interpreter for an MBA major.The author conveyed the teaching content of the foreign professors to students and feedback of students’ situations and questions to professors,so as to ensure that professors and students can communicate in a timely and effective manner in class,improve the teaching efficiency and complete the learning content.This report is based on this interpreting practice and focuses on analyzing some problems in the process of remote interpreting,such as listening comprehension problems,note-taking problems,expression problems including omissions and misinterpreting,as well as emergencies like equipment problems and conflicts between two sides.This report analyzes the problems and finds out the causes of the problems,poor coordination of listening and notes,inadequate preparation,and inadequate response-ability for example.In addition,this report also discusses the interpreting techniques adopted by the author in the process,like omission,addition,combination and confirmation,so as to deal with the difficulties in the process of interpreting flexibly,and ensure the quality of interpretation.The author combines the previous studies and her own practice to provide some references for other interpreters who carry out similar activities. |
