With the rapid development of science and technology,Remote Education(RE)is increasingly attracting more and more attention due to its advantages,such as no time and space limitations.Significantly,under the influence of the global COVID-19 epidemic,with the entry and exit restricted,overseas universities had to take online teaching to ensure their teaching plan.Thus,the need for interpreting for online courses arises.Based on an interpreting practice for courses in the MBA program,This practice report reviewed the whole process,extracted the characteristics and difficulties and challenges,and tried to find approaches to improving its quality.This report focused on three aspects: first,it reflected on the problems in the practice,including redundancy,loss of information,and misinterpreting;the second,it analyzed and divided the causes into subjective causes,including language ability,knowledge storage,energy allocation,and objective causes such as external interference;the third,the interpreter actively used translation tactics in the practice including addition,omission,division,and combination.In summary,the author believes that the quality of interpreting for courses can be improved by several targeted measures,such as enhancing language skills,improving the efficiency of pre-interpreting preparation,and improving cross-cultural awareness.
