Study On The Arc Construction Of Characters In Youth Films From The Perspective Of Mirror Theory ——Take My Graduation Work The Great Wizard As An Example

As the mainstream of China’s film industry,youth films have been advancing in controversy.Youth genre films have been labeled as "vulgar","symbolic","distorted values" and so on,so the discussion and innovation of it must be put on the agenda.As an important expression factor of the artistic value of the film,the character arc light can reflect the nature of the character,map the nature of the character,create intense conflicts,deepen the theme,and create the character image that the audience is moved and remembered for a long time is the key to the success of the film.Therefore,the study of the arc light construction of characters in youth films can positively examine the advantages guide the creation practice of youth films,and create more wonderful character images.Based on the creation practice of the graduation work The Great Magician,the author studies the construction of the arc light of the characters in the youth genre films from the perspective of Jacques Lacan’s mirror theory.The author observes various changes in the growth process of the characters under the mirror image,and discusses the new idea of constructing the arc light of the characters in the youth genre films.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly explains the background and significance of the topic,the research status of youth genre film and character arc,the main research methods used by the author and the overview of the work.The first chapter is the definition of the youth genre film,the interpretation of the concept of "character arc",the concept of "mirror theory";The author divides the construction of character arc into three parts: character setting,plot and structure,and theme expression.Respectively in the second,third and fourth chapters of the paper.Based on the theory of mirror image,the author analyzes the arc light construction of characters in youth films from many aspects and angles,hoping to provide some reference for the creators of youth films in the future.
