Now entering the 5G era, mobile phones have gradually become a must-have item.No matter in any occasion, people can see the scene of being addicted to mobile phones.Phubbing is further described by cell phone snub, which refers to the behavior of individuals who pay too much attention to their cell phones while ignoring those around them.If this kind of behavior occurs in parent-child communication and interaction in the family environment,it is called parental phubbing. At present, parental phubbing has been proved to have a negative impact on teenagers’ psychological development and behavior. However, there are relatively few researches in this field. This study focuses on its impact on adolescents’ cyberbullying and explores the internal influencing mechanism between the two.In this study,1,653 adolescents from four primary and secondary schools in Sichuan province and Inner Mongolia were measured using the Parents Phubbing Scale, the Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction Scale, the Friend Support Scale and the Cyberbullying behavior Scale. The results show that:(1)Parental phubbing is significantly negatively correlated with basic psychological need and friend support. There is a significant positive correlation between parental phubbing and teenagers’ cyberbullying.(2)Parental phubbing plays a positive role in predicting adolescents’ cyberbullying.(3)Basic psychological needs satisfaction has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between parental phubbing and adolescents’ cyberbullying.(4)The moderating effect of friend support occurred in the first half of the mediation pathway, that is,friend support moderated the influence of parental phubbing on basic psychological need. When the level of friend support was high, parental phubbing had a stronger negative predictive effect on basic psychological need. Therefore, this study draws the following conclusions:(1)As a risk factor, parental phubbing can not only directly affect adolescents’ cyberbullying, but also indirectly affect it through the basic psychological needs satisfaction.(2)As parental phubbing becomes more and more serious, the protective effect of high level of friend support on basic psychological needs satisfaction gradually decreases.
