A Survey On Polyphonic Acquisition Of Italian Intermediate Chinese Learners

With the continuous development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,some key and difficult problems in teaching Chinese as a foreign language are attracting more and more attention,such as the acquisition of polyphonic characters for second language learners.However,as the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is complicated,especially the situation of overseas teaching varies with different countries and regions,it is necessary to further improve the relevant research.This thesis will investigate and study the acquisition of polyphonic characters among Italian intermediate Chinese learners.Firstly,we count the situation of polyphonic characters in the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education(hereinafter referred to as the Standard),which is newly released in 2021,and get to know the requirements of polyphonic characters that learners "should learn" in the Standard.We also count the situation of polyphonic characters in the teaching material Italians learning Chinese used by learners and get to know the situation of polyphonic characters "learned" by learners in theory.The polyphonic characters in Standard and Italians Learning Chinese are compared,and the survey test volume of learners’ polyphonic character acquisition is formulated with the comparison results as reference.The test results obtained are the "learned" situation of learners.Through the comparison of "should learn" and "learned" of learners,the acquisition situation of learners is further analyzed.Then interview the relevant teachers and students,analyze the reasons of learners’ acquisition situation,and put forward polyphonic characters learning and teaching suggestions.The thesis mainly includes the following parts.Chapter one "Introduction":This chapter introduces the research significance,literature review and research methods.There are abundant ontological research achievements on polyphonic characters,and many researches on polyphonic characters in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.However,there is a lack of researches on the acquisition of polyphonic characters of Italian intermediate Chinese learners.The existing research on polyphonic characters does not involve the Italian native textbook Italians learning Chinese and the newly released Standard,so this research has some innovative significance.Chapter two "Analysis of Polyphonic Words in the Standard and Italians Learning Chinese":The first section of this chapter makes a statistical analysis of the polyphonic characters in the Standard from grade 1 to grade 4,include their phonetic items and the words under the phonetic items.The second section of this chapter makes a statistical analysis of the polyphonic characters in the intermediate part of the classical local textbook Italians learning Chinese used by Italian Chinese learners,and obtains the characteristics of different polyphonic characters and their phonetic items in the textbook.The third section of this chapter compares the Standard with the textbook and finds some differences between them.Chapter three "Design and Implementation of Survey Test":This chapter determines the test questions of learners by referring to the comparison results of Standard and textbook as well as the specific test environment and other factors,and obtains the test results of polyphonic characters acquisition of Italian intermediate Chinese learners.At the same time,other relevant information of learners is obtained by designing and conducting interviews.Chapter four "Analysis of Research Results":The first section of this chapter makes further statistical analysis of the test results,and the research results show that the polyphonic acquisition situation of Italian intermediate Chinese learners is as follows:Students’ polyphonic acquisition situation is good,basically meeting the requirements of the Standard;Context semantics is helpful for learners to acquire polyphonic characters,but it is limited by learners’ Chinese level.The common problem of learners is that they cannot pronounce correctly.Among the different types of polyphonic characters,it is more difficult to learn polyphonic characters whose difference between phonetic items is tone difference.The second section of this chapter analyzes the reasons for the poor acquisition of partial polyphonic characters according to the acquisition situation of learners and the interview results.The main reason is the influence of teachers’ teaching and teaching materials,and the limitation of students’ Chinese level.Chapter five "Reflections and Suggestions on the Acquisition of Polyphonic Characters by Italian Intermediate Chinese Learners":This chapter reflects on the acquisition of polyphonic characters by Italian intermediate Chinese learners,and puts forward some teaching and learning suggestions,such as attaching importance to phonetic teaching,classification teaching,rational use of textbooks,reading and speaking more and developing good habits.
