As the world’s second largest consumer market, our country’s consumption has been the first driving force of economic growth for many years.Cultural consumption,an important direction for consumption upgrades, has gradually become an important engine for optimizing economic structure. With the development of the economy and the improvement of people’s living standards, cultural consumption has increasingly become a symbol of people’s pursuit of quality of life.Although the scale of cultural consumption continues to expand, the overall level is still low,and the problem of unbalanced development of cultural consumption is prominent,The differences between urban and rural areas and regional differences are more significant. At present, there are few analytical studies on the quantification of cultural consumption gap.In addition, cultural consumption,as a special product, will be affected by what factors? Income as the core factor affecting consumption, what are the differences in the impact of per capita disposable income on cultural consumption based on different levels of economic development? These are all questions worth studying.First of all,On the basis of theoretical and literature research, combined with the current status of cultural consumption of urban and rural residents in my country, the problem of unbalanced development of cultural consumption between urban and rural areas and regions in my country has been discovered. Then, measures the main reasons for the formation of the gap in my country’s cultural consumption by constructing the Theil index, which is analyzed separately from the perspective of urban and rural areas and regions. Then, establish a panel data model to study the influencing factors of cultural consumption and the differences between these influencing factors between urban and rural areas and regions. On this basis,a panel threshold model is established to study whether the per capita disposable income in regions with different economic development levels has a threshold effect on cultural consumption. Finally, based on the research conclusions, the paper puts forward some reasonable measures and suggestions. The results show that:(1)The main reason for the unbalanced development of cultural consumption in my country should be explained by the gap between urban and rural areas, but the gap is closing in recent years. The inter-provincial gap between the cities and towns in the eastern and central regions is larger than the inter-provincial gap in the rural areas, and the gap in the cities and towns has been expanding, and the gap in the rural areas has gradually narrowed, while the conclusion in the west is the opposite.(2)There are urban-rural and regional differences in various factors influencing cultural consumption. The marginal propensity to consume of urban residents is greater than that of rural residents, and the marginal propensity to consume in the central and western regions is greater than that in the eastern regions. The urbanization rate has a greater impact on the cultural consumption of urban residents than rural residents, and has a greater impact on the eastern region than the other two regions.(3)As the changing of regional economic development level, the per capita disposable income of urban residents has a significant double threshold effect on cultural consumption, and the per capita income of rural residents has a significant single threshold effect on cultural consumption.Regions at different levels of economic development have different impacts of disposable income on cultural consumption.Regions with a lower level of economic development have greater marginal propensity for cultural consumption. |
