Artificial Intelligence in Education:Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Development is a related work report issued by UNESCO in early 2019.It has the general characteristics of UN documents, such as concise in content, clear and well-organized in logic, accurate in information, and complete and consistent in writing. The UN documents thus are of great value for translation and related research. However, since there are many terms and long sentences in such documents,it also brings great difficulties to translation, especially the translation of specific terms and sentences.Verschueren, who put forward the theory of pragmatic adaptation, believed that language has variability, negotiability and adaptability.Based on the three characteristics, the language use is actually a continuous process of adaptation and selection, which is mainly reflected in two aspects:contextual correlates of adaptability and structural objects of adaptability. The dynamic adaptation strategy is the core concept in his theory, which refers to the "dynamic generation of meaning" in language use.The purpose of this report is to analyze and solve the specific problems encountered in the translation of the original text under the guidance of dynamic adaptation strategies, and then summarize the specific translation methods. For lexical translation, guided by the principle of dynamic adaptability to the contextual correlates of the target language, five translation methods are used:1)zero translation;2)clarification and extension of meaning;3)conversion of parts of speech;4)literal translation;5)addition and omission. For syntactic translation, guided by the principle of dynamic adaptability to the structural objects of the target language, four translation methods are used:1)the translation of passive voice;2)combination and division;3)linear translation and inversion 4)reorganization.These methods are not independent, but need to be used comprehensively according to the practice. It is hoped that this study can provide a new perspective on the translation of UN documents.
