As the most solid foundation for the prosperity of the country,the prosperity of the nation,and the happiness of the people,education plays a leading role in the joint construction of "the Belt and Road".The exchanges in education have built a bridge for the people-to-people communication among the countries along the route,and the cultivation of talents has enabled the smooth flow of trade,policy communication,financial exchanges,and trade exchanges among the countries along the route.The students majoring in Chinese International Education talents needed for Chinese teachers at home and abroad,for spreading Chinese and Chinese culture towards the world,for foreign-related institutions,and for the development of "the Belt and Road".Their cognition and feedback on the Initiative is not only the most direct manifestation of the dissemination effect of the Initiative,but also has an important role and influence on the development of the Initiative.In order to enable students majoring in Chinese International Education to have a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of this Initiative and to become the talents needed for the development of the Initiative,so as to broaden their employment channels,it is of great significance to study the cognition status quo of Chinese international education majors towards this Initiative.The first part of the article mainly introduces the research background,research purpose and significance,theoretical basis,core concepts,literature review and research design.The second part takes all undergraduates and postgraduates of Chinese nationality in Xinjiang Normal University majoring in Chinese International Education as the survey objects,and takes the status quo of "the Belt and Road" initiative as the survey content,In this part,their cognitive content,cognitive approaches,cognition reasons,cognitive attitudes and cognitive behaviors are sorted out.The third part mainly analyzes the content,ways,reasons,attitudes and behaviors of students majoring in Chinese international education about "the Belt and Road" Initiative.The fourth part puts forward substantive suggestions on the issue of awareness of the Initiative:According to the needs of students,the national government should raise students’ attention;the media should raise diversified information channels and optimize cognitive content.universities should set up courses,integrate ideology and politics into the courses,and enhance students’ sense of mission for the prosperity of the country and the nation.The colleges should actively carry out campus activities to attract students’ cognitive interest;Students strengthen their professionalism and raise their awareness towards the initiative.This paper expands the application scope of the "knowledge-trust-action" model,and enriches the types of cognitive articles on "the Belt and Road" Initiative at the national level.In addition,a questionnaire survey was conducted among all students majoring in Chinese International Education at Xinjiang Normal University through a census,and there was a sufficient sample size.However,due to my limited academic level,insufficient knowledge of statistics and insufficient proficiency in the analysis software SPSS,I only performed a simple analysis of the data.And this article only analyzes the cognition of the students majoring in Chinese international education towards the Belt and Road Initiative.There is no control group to compare the cognition of the students from Chinese international education towards the Initiative and that of the students from other majors,which makes the research content not comprehensive enough.
