| The proposal of key competences requires teachers to deeply consider the fundamental issues of ‘what kind of students to cultivate’ and ‘how to cultivate people’ in education,so as to truly reflect the educational concept of ‘people-oriented’.According to the requirement that the key competences requires the students to have the necessary character of social development,improving the efficiency of English classroom teaching and reducing the teaching burden has become the focus of classroom teaching reform and research.Therefore,based on the theory of core literacy and learning community,this study investigates the problems existing in middle school students’ English classroom learning community through questionnaires,interviews,classroom observation and other research methods,explores the causes,and puts forward optimization strategies.Based on the theoretical support of constructivism and humanism to the construction of classroom learning community,this study summarizes the related research of classroom learning community and key competences.In this study,the following research questions are put forward through in-depth field investigation of classroom teaching: 1)Based on the key competencies of disciplines,what are the issues confronting the English classroom learning community shared by teachers and students? 2)Based on the key competencies of disciplines,what are the factors impacting the English classroom learning community shared by teachers and students? 3)Based on the key competencies of disciplines,what are the strategies for building up a middle school English classroom learning community?The study entered the case study school and conducted a questionnaire survey on 50 English teachers and 150 students in a middle school in Liaocheng.On the basis of the questionnaire survey,different interactive subjects and lessons were selected to observe and record.The learning community shared by teachers and students is mainly about the implementation,teaching design,teacher-student cooperation,and activity structure of the goals of core competencies.Besides,an analysis is made for both teachers and students,apart from their knowledge of the learning community,it also touches upon the restraints of educational concept and large-class teaching restrictions.Concerning the issues confronting the classroom learning community and the causes,this study is based on key competencies of disciplines to provide viable strategies to the building of an English classroom learning community: 1)Determine common goals and specific goals;2)Interactive teaching;3)Optimized management;4)Comprehensive evaluation;5)Bring up higher goals of core competences.Through the theoretical analysis,practical exploration and construction strategy of classroom learning community,this study aims to construct a classroom teaching mode that promotes the transformation of teachers’ teaching methods and students’ learning methods based on the guarantee of students’ learning rights.The FLTRP textbooks for middle schools are adopted in the study for case design and analysis,hence providing theoretical basis and practical references to both teachers and students. |
