| The source text is selected from the second chapter of the biographical novel Chen Hongmou of the Qing Dynasty.This book was written by Huang Jishu,a national first-class writer,and published by Relay Publishing Company.This chapter mainly tells the story of Chen Hongmou’s experience as a prefect in Yangzhou and impeaching Jin Hong,who was the governor of Guangxi.The language of the selected chapters is relatively simple,the characters are distinct,and they have strong historical and cultural features.This practice report includes two parts.First,the second chapter of the work is translated into English,which is about 12,000 words.Then,a translation practice report of more than 5,000 words is written according to the difficulties encountered in translation.This report is guided by Relevance Theory,which points out that language communication is a mutual process of cognition and reference.First of all,the author will analyze the status and relationship among the original author,translator and target reader in translation activities.Then,according to Relevance Theory,the author will put forward translation strategies at the lexical,syntactic and rhetorical levels in combination with the important and difficult points encountered in the translation process.Finally,the author will analyze the effect of these translation strategies and methods in spreading Chinese culture.This translation report consists of five parts: The first part describes this translation task,including the background of the project,the introduction of the source text and the significance of this translation practice.The second part introduces the translation process of this translation activity,including the pre-translation,the important and difficult points in translation practice and proofreading after translation.The third part introduces the translation guidance theory of this practical report.The fourth part is case analysis.According to classic cases,the author will analyze the important and difficult points encountered in translation process and propose corresponding solutions.The fifth part is a summary of translation practice,mainly including the findings and limitations in this translation practice. |
