The source text of the translation report was selected from the first chapter of the biographical novel Chen Hongmou of the Qing Dynasty,which was written by the famous writer Huang Jishu,and the source text contains a total of 11,300 words.The novel Chen Hongmou of the Qing Dynasty was one of the series of books entitled The Famous People in Guilin.The book mainly narrates Chen Hongmou's life as an official.The first chapter of this book mainly tells the story of Chen Hongmou on his way to Beijing to take the Capital Exam.The guiding theory selected in this report was the theories on the translator's subjectivity and intersubjectivity.To begin with,this report analyzed the status and relationship between the author of source text,the translator,and the target readers in the translation process.Then,the translator selected appropriate translation strategies and methods to solve the difficulties in the translation process according to the theories on the translator's subjectivity and intersubjectivity.In the end,the translator focused on the effects of these translation strategies on the spread of Chinese culture to the world.The translator believes that only by understanding the source text fully,considering the acceptability of the target readers fully,and bringing the translator's subjectivity into full play in translation process,can a translator translate a text well.This translation report consists of five parts.The first part is the description of the translation task,which mainly introduces the background,the author and content of the source text.The second part introduces the translation process,including the pre-translation preparation,proofreading of translation text,and the difficulties during the translation process.The third part introduces the translation theories used in this translation practice report.The fourth part introduces the case analysis,in which the translator analyzes difficulties and emphases during the translation practice and gives the solutions to these difficulties through the case study presented in this part.The fifth part is a conclusion of the translation practice,mainly including the gains and weaknesses in this translation process.
