The Ideological And Political Study Of College English Curriculum

At the 2016 National Conference on Ideological and Political Work in Colleges and Universities,General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that ideological and political work in colleges and universities should take moral cultivation as the central link,carry out ideological and political education into the whole process of education and teaching,realize whole-process and all-dimensional education,and strive to create a new situation for the development of higher education in China.In order to fulfill the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people,colleges and universities must "keep a good track" and "plant a good responsible land" in all their courses,and must always take cultivating and educating students to set up correct world outlook,outlook on life and values as their primary responsibility.College English curriculum has the characteristics of school hours long,wide span and coverage,but also the most face to face with the current social diversity of a curriculum,has the rich Chinese and western political,cultural,thought the content of the communication and collision,under the background of Chinese and western cultural conflict improve students plays an important role in western culture values is a judgment.Therefore,it is of great and practical significance to carry out the ideological and political tasks in college English courses,strengthen the ideological education of positive energy for college students,and train the builders and successors of socialism.Through the analysis of the current situation of implementing the ideological and political curriculum in college English teaching,the author believes that the main problems in implementing the ideological and political curriculum in college English teaching are as follows: many English teachers attach more importance to teaching than to educating people;the ideological and political elements in college English teaching materials are not fully explored;the methods of educating people by teachers need to be improved.The main reasons for these problems are that teachers’ ideological and political consciousness is not strong,the bondage of social exam-oriented education mechanism,and the ideological and political education teaching mode is single.In order to carry out the ideological and political education of English courses in colleges and universities,we must adhere to the fundamental task of "cultivating people by virtue" and follow the principles of natural moderation and imperceptible change.The main contents of ideological and political education in college English courses can be optimized by integrating the excellent traditional Chinese culture into English culture teaching,strengthening the guidance of socialist core values in English language teaching,and exploring the ideological and political elements in English teaching.By giving full play to the resources of "moral education" in English teaching,we can improve the ideological and political education quality of English teachers,optimize the teaching methods of English courses,carry out all-round education mode,and realize the realization of cultivating people with virtue and moistening things silently.
