begin to pay attention to the career success under the New Career Development Mode.At the same time,increasing workplace competition has led to the emergence of a large number of egoism in the workplace.What is the relationship between egoism and career success under the new career model?This study selected three different variables: Machiavellianism personality,new career attitude and subjective career success.The purpose of this study is to further understand the three internal mechanisms and the relationship among the three variables.What’s more,the author hopes to provide corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for young people’s career development through this research.Machiavellianism personality is an egotistical personality,a personal tendency to use others to achieve one’s goals and maximize one’s benefits.New career attitudes fall into two categories: Protean career attitude and Boundaryless career attitude.Subjective career success refers to an individual’s internal feelings and evaluation of his or her work experience and career development.In this study,423 employees of CREDAMO,a national network information platform,were investigated by questionnaire survey.The information collected by the questionnaire is further analyzed by many statistical methods.The statistical methods used in this study are descriptive statistics,independent sample t-test,variance analysis,regression analysis,Bootstrap analysis,and so on.In total,the study produced the following results:1.There is a pairwise correlation between Machiavellianism personality,new career attitudes,and subjective career success.2.New career attitudes have mediator effect on Machiavellianism personality and subjective career success.New career attitudes have a part of mediate effect of coping between Machiavellianism personality and the perceived employability of subjective career success.New career attitudes have a completely mediate effect of coping between Machiavellianism personality and the perceived employability of subjective career success.3.There were significant differences in Machiavellianism personality scores by gender,age,length of service,job class,and annual salary.The Machiavellianism personality of employees was significantly higher for men than for women.Employees’ Machiavellianism personality scores also varied in age: score went substantially enhanced among those under 26 than those between 26 and 30.The performance of employees in terms of length of service has a great variation: Staffs who has less than 5years of service’s score is significantly higher than more than 5 years.Machiavellianism personality scores also varied in job performance: average employees scored significantly higher than junior executives and middle.Employees earning less than200,000 a year had extensively superior personality scores than those earning more than200,000 a year.There were significant differences in protean career attitude scores by gender,job rank and annual salary.The protean career attitude of employees was surprisingly higher for men than for women.Protean career attitude scores also varied in job performance: lower and middle level of the executives,and upper level managers scored distinctly higher than rank and file employees.Protean career attitude scores vary widely depending on the employee’s annual salary: those earning more than200,000 were precisely higher than those earning less than 200,000.There were also strictly diversifications in gender,organizational type and job level in boundaryless career attitude scores.Employees’ boundaryless career attitude scores varied by gender:men’s score is exceeding women.Boundaryless career attitude also scored vary according to the types of organizations: State Owned Enterprises,public institutions,and government agencies scored substantially enhanced than other occupations and private enterprise employees.Boundaryless career attitude scores varied widely among employees in different positions: executives and senior managers scored significantly higher than employees in the general population.There is a significant difference between the career satisfaction and the annual salary.Career satisfaction performed differently at the employee level: executives’ career satisfaction extensively superior than the average employee.Among employees with different annual salaries,those who earn more than 200,000 have higher career satisfaction than those earning less 200,000.There were broadly diversities in length of service,job rank and annual salary among perceived employability.There was a significant difference in the length of service of perceived employability employees: those with more than three years of service perceived employability significantly more than those with less than three years of service.Executives and managers have more perceived employability than the rank and file.Employees earning more than 200,000 have more perceived employability significantly than those earning less.The conclusions of this study are as follows:1.Machiavellianism personality has a significant negative predictive effect on new career attitude and subjective career success.The new career attitude has a substantial positive predictive influence on subjective career success.2.Machiavellianism personality can influence subjective career success by changing the mediator effect of new career attitudes.3.Different gender,age,length of service,type of organization,occupational level and annual
