| Since the implementation of the Chinese Language Teacher Volunteer Program,the number of volunteer Chinese language teachers abroad has been increasing each year.As the backbone of international Chinese teaching,whether volunteer Chinese teachers can adapt to their roles directly affects the communication and promotion of the Chinese international.This article takes five volunteer Chinese language teachers abroad as the research object,based on the theory of teachers’ role,uses qualitative research methods,and through in-depth interviews to indicate the role adaptation process of volunteer Chinese language teachers abroad and analyzes the difficulties they faced,influencing factors,characteristics and solutions to related problems.This article is mainly divided into the following six parts:The first chapter introduces the research background and significance of the selected topic.The second chapter of the literature reviews the basic concepts and research results of the teacher-role theory,and summarizes the research on the role adaptation of Chinese teacher volunteers.The third chapter of the research take the qualitative research and case analysis methods to explain the background of the selected research objects and also the methods used in the research.Chapter Four provides a vivid description of the role adaptation process of the five research subjects,and reproduces the successful and also unsuccessful cases of volunteer Chinese language teachers abroad from the four aspects on their work,life,interpersonal relationship,and cultural adaptation to explore the adaptation scenarios of Chinese teacher volunteer roles presented at different aspects.Chapter Five analyzes the process,characteristics,causes of problems and personal impact of volunteers’ role adaptation from the perspective of role adaptation based on the presentation of individual cases.Chapter Six proposes coping strategies and suggestions from the volunteer team of Chinese teachers and the team of assistance. |
