| English autonomous learning refers to the activity that students study English independently and actively. Before the beginning of learning activities, students can determine learning goals and make learning plans;in learning activities, students can monitor and adjust learning progress, learning methods and learning strategies;after learning activities, students can summarize and assess learning activities. To sum up,it includes three aspects: self-planning ability before learning activities begin,self-monitoring ability in learning activities and self-assessing ability after learning activities. In today’s society, with the development of science and technology, the demand for human development is higher and higher.Under this environment, schools pay more and more attention to the importance of autonomous learning. Therefore,it is of great significance to study English autonomous learning of high school students under the background of education informatization.Based on the previous research results and guided by the theory of autonomous learning, this paper investigates 160 students in a senior high school by questionnaire,in order to make the survey results more comprehensive, six senior high school English teachers were interviewed. This paper mainly studies the following questions: 1)Under the background of informatization, what are the attitudes of teachers and students towards English autonomous learning? 2)What is the current situation of students’ autonomous learning from three different dimensions? 3)What are the differences between students with different genders?(4)What are the differences between students with different English proficiency(high, middle and low scores)in English autonomous learning?By analyzing the results of the questionnaire and the interview materials, the following conclusions are drawn: 1)In the attitude towards English autonomous learning, teachers and students have similar views, they can realize the importance of English autonomous learning. However, they are not very familiar with the concept of autonomous learning, due to the influence of examination-oriented education and traditional teaching views, teachers take improving students’ academic performance as their main goal and ignore the cultivation of students’ autonomous learning capacity.2)By analyzing the current situation of students’ autonomous learning from three dimensions,it can be seen that students’ autonomous learning in English is in a medium level as a whole.3)By grouping students with genders,it is found that girls’ English autonomous learning level is better than boys’ in general.4)By grouping students according to their English proficiency,it is found that there are significant differences in different dimensions of English autonomous learning. The English autonomous learning capacity of high score students is obviously better than that of middle and low score students. |
