A Comparative Study Of Tang Yin’s Paintings Of Ladies And Torii Kiyonaga’s Of Beautiful Paintings

The Ming Dynasty was an important stage in the development of Chinese painting of ladies.No matter in terms of aesthetic tendency,painting function,or subject matter form,unprecedented changes have taken place.One hundred years later,China’s neighbor across the sea,Japan,also ushered in the late period of feudal society--the Edo Age.At this time,Japan was undergoing great changes in economy,politics,ideology and culture,and the consciousness of "Ukiyoshi" was also spreading.As the most representative art form of the Edo period,Ukiyo-e is exerting a great influence on the art history of Japan and even the West.Paintings with female themes were called "paintings of ladies" in ancient China and "paintings of beauties" in Japan.This paper selects two most representative painters of the same period in China and Japan for a comparative study.One is Tang Yin,a famous Chinese painter in the Ming Dynasty,and the other is Torii Kiyonaga’s,the most representative painter in the middle period of the development of Ukiyo-e.When studying the art history of the Ming Dynasty and the Edo Period,it is found that there is a certain connection between the two painters,and they have made breakthroughs under their respective cultural backgrounds,presenting different painting features.In particular,the achievements of Tang Yin’s paintings of ladies had a profound influence on later generations.His paintings were not only spread abroad,but also had a certain influence on the Japanese painters in the Ukiyo-e period.Life experiences,this article from the artists combined with times background,painting style,painting techniques and conveyed in the picture of the artistic thought,emphasis on comparing two painters paintings,analysis the two painters in the method,the subject content and form of expression with the opposite sex,understand cultural exchanges between the two countries culture in Ming and Qing dynasties.In the process of in-depth analysis and discussion of the paintings of the two artists,we can better understand how Ukiyo-e art creates highly decorative and exotic painting art based on the traditional culture of our own nation and brings forth the new from the old.In the future artistic creation,Gift inspires us to better integrate the development of inheritance and innovation.
