Research And Application Of Shanxi Fabric Art Intangible Heritage Images In Picture Book Creation

"Inheritance",i.e.the acceptance and undertaking of the style,culture and knowledge of those who came before us.The rich fabric arts of Shanxi are born out of the simple daily lives of working people and are found in every aspect of ordinary people’s lives.However,the art of cloth,which relies on the oral tradition of master and apprentice and the production of needle and thread,is facing the same challenges as most traditional crafts,such as the disconnect with modern aesthetics,the impact of mechanisation and the decline of inheritors.With the advent of the ’picture reading era’,images and visual culture have become the primary means of accessing information in our daily lives,and with the advent of the ’two-child era’,picture book reading is on the rise.In this paper,we use the "Lihou Tiger" and "Shaking Head Lion",both of which are part of Shanxi’s intangible cultural heritage,as a source of quality content that reflects the spirit of our traditional culture,and combine them with picture books,a unique means of communication that promotes knowledge and records culture.Under the guidance of a child-oriented view,the humani stic sentiment and national spirit are implicitly reflected in the book,which combines the ethnicity and decorative nature of Shanxi’s cloth heritage with a more contemporary visual language,aiming to gradually form an independent system for the local creation of modern picture books in China and to build a path for the dissemination of intangible heritage.Our children will be able to read Chinese picture books,listen to Chinese stories,grow up under the influence of excellent and profound traditional culture,and become an emerging force in the inheritance and promotion of traditional culture.This paper is divided into five chapters,the introduction and the second chapter mainly explain the current situation and the pain points of the development of the cloth non-foreign heritage and Chinese picture books in Shanxi,and analyze the cases to explore the feasibility of combining the two;the third chapter summarizes and elaborates the basic methods of creating cloth non-foreign heritage picture books through the analysis of the textual construction and image line expression of the same type of non-foreign heritage picture books;the fourth chapter uses the graduation design picture books "There is a divine tiger" and Here comes the Lion!The fourth chapter uses the graduation design picture books "There is a divine tiger" and "The lion is coming!" as examples to summarise the creative method summarised above in practice and theory,and to explore the feasibility of the method,so that it can be used to generalise to the creation of other intangible cultural heritage picture books.
