This is a report on the E-C translation practice of chapter6 and chapter 17 excepted from Environmental policy And Public Health.The book is a technical and scientific text and mainly describes some pollution problems about environment and “In China,chemical pollution is more and more serious”(Hari 8).“However,the problem has existed in America during the second industrial revolution and American government has took some actions and introduced many acts to effectively solve the problem ”(Martend 3).the author chooses the two chapters as a translation practice to spread the knowledge about toxic chemicals in environment,how chemicals threat human health,American government regulations to govern these toxic chemicals.Meanwhile,the authors also is to give some references for other translators about the translation of this kind of text.For the translation report,the author chooses the eco-translatology theory as a guidance to analyze translation strategies of the technical and scientific text and show how to solve translation difficulties by three-dimensional translations that are linguistic dimension,cultural dimension and communicative dimension.The author mainly adopts these methods such as transformations of parts of speech,word meanings and passive sentences in linguistic dimension,applies the free translation method and uses the methods of amplification and omission in communicative dimension.The author aims to develop some new ways for her future translation practices to improve her translation ability and the quality of the version as well as show a better version to readers.
