A Study On The Processing Of Variant Characters In Xinhua Dictionary From The Perspective Of Lexicographic Archaeology

From the perspective of dictionary history,lexicographic archaeology research is based on the method of dictionary comparison,which mainly includes the comparison between different dictionaries of the same language material and the same language material between different versions of the same dictionary,and explores the development and changes of the compilation principles and methods of the dictionary itself in the dictionary pedigree.From the perspective of philology,dictionaries,as normative language materials,can record the basic features of Chinese characters at the time of compilation,from the comparison of variant characters and their attributes in different editions,it is conducive to the development and evolution of variant characters.Xinhua Dictionary and Vocabulary of common words in Guoyin are two representative and influential dictionaries before and after the founding of new China,and they interact frequently with the national language and writing standards.Based on this,this paper constructs the external pedigree centered on "Vocabulary of common words in Guoyin-Xinhua Dictionary",the internal pedigree of Xinhua Dictionary,and the external pedigree centered on "Xinhua Dictionary language and writing standards".This paper takes seven dictionaries of Xinhua Dictionary and Vocabulary of common words in Guoyin in 1954,1957,1971,1998,2011 and 2020 as the research objects,and takes the variant characters included in them as the closed domain to explore the development and changes in the dictionary pedigree in terms of compilation description,collection,heading and classification of variant characters in Xinhua Dictionary,as well as the significance of the development of Vocabulary of common words in Guoyin and Xinhua Dictionary in the modern Han Dynasty This paper explores the status of Chinese dictionary in the pedigree.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction.This part mainly explains the research background,the selection and definition of the research object,the research methods,the related research review and the value and significance of the research.The second part is the comparison of the processing of variant words in external dictionary genealogy from the perspective of dictionary genealogy.This part first makes a comparative analysis of the compilation instructions of variant characters in the Vocabulary of common words in Guoyin and Xinhua Dictionary,makes quantitative statistics of the variant characters,and then explores the development and changes of variant characters in the external pedigree of Xinhua Dictionary.Secondly,this paper makes a comparative study of variant words in the two dictionaries,explores the similarities and differences of variant words in the two dictionaries,and analyzes the causes of these similarities and differences.It is concluded that the way to deal with variant words in Xinhua dictionary is an innovation on the basis of inheriting and revising the common vocabulary of annotated Guoyin.The third part,the dictionary genealogy angle of view Xinhua Dictionary internal genealogy variant character processing contrast.This part makes quantitative statistics on the collection of variant characters in six editions of Xinhua Dictionary,compares the adjacent editions in turn,discusses the collection and Compilation Characteristics of variant characters in different editions of Xinhua Dictionary,and probes into the differences in combination with the compilation background,It concludes the Compilation Characteristics and rules of inheritance,innovation and perfection of the internal pedigree variant word processing in Xinhua dictionary.The fourth part,the lexicographic archaeological perspective of the Xinhua Dictionary peripheral genealogy variant word processing contrast.The collection of variant characters in Xinhua Dictionary is inseparable from the influence of language and character norms.Through the comparison between Xinhua Dictionary and the language and character norms of the same period,this part comes to the conclusion of dictionary archaeological research on Xinhua Dictionary and language and character norms: while Xinhua Dictionary implements the language and character norms,it surpasses the language and character norms and further complements them.The fifth part is the conclusion and suggestion of the lexicographic archaeological research on the processing of variant characters in Xinhua Dictionary.This part introduces the specific situation of variant characters in Xinhua Dictionary dictionary from three aspects of external pedigree,internal pedigree and external pedigree,as well as the evolution and development of variant characters in Xinhua Dictionary Dictionary pedigree,and summarizes the archaeological research.Finally,the paper puts forward some suggestions for future dictionary compilation from the perspectives of lexicography,philology ontology research and dictionary compilation talents,and points out the future research direction of the paper.
