| The North South difference has been a hot topic in the public.Under the long-term effect of climate,culture,history and policy,the South and North have distinct differences in consumption habits and business environment.In terms of cost stickiness,the existing research shows that agent problem plays a leading role in the formation of cost stickiness.By analyzing the cultural differences between the South and the north of China,we can see that the northern region has strong political color,and the enterprises often need to maintain a good relationship with the government at high cost.Moreover,the "face culture" is prevalent in the northern region.Under the influence of this commercial culture,the internal and external supervision of enterprises is invisible weakened,and the management as "rational economic man" has the will and has the will in this situation Sufficient space for opportunistic behavior,for their own private interests,resulting in higher cost stickiness of northern enterprises.However,the heavy business culture in the south of China is prevalent,and its advantages in business environment are obvious compared with those in the north.The enterprises benefit from advanced management system and management concept,which has better compressed the space for the implementation of management opportunism,so the Enterprise Cost Stickiness level is low.This paper takes Shanghai Shenzhen A-share manufacturing listed companies as samples,divides enterprises into southern enterprises and Northern Enterprises according to the actual operation places of Qinling-Huaihe line,which is generally used in China.The empirical test shows the influence of cultural differences in the South and North on the enterprise cost stickiness,and examines the external regulatory effect of media attention.The results show that:(1)the cultural differences between the South and the North lead to the higher Enterprise Cost Stickiness in the north than in the South;(2)the media attention can reduce the Enterprise Cost Stickiness caused by the cultural differences between the South and the north,which indicates that the media attention can effectively inhibit the implementation of the self-interest behavior of the enterprise management in the northern region.The existing research finds that the perfect internal governance mechanism also has a restraining effect on the implementation of the management self-interest behavior.Therefore,this paper further studies the influence of internal control on the cultural differences and Enterprise Cost Stickiness in the South and North,and analyzes the influence of the cultural differences in the South and North on different property rights enterprises.According to the results of the study,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)to promote the development of market economy in the north and to expand the opening up of the outside world.(2)Encourage media to actively participate in the supervision and governance of enterprises,so as to make up for the deficiency of internal governance mechanism and reduce regional differences.(3)We will promote the reform of "releasing management services" and improve the service concept of officials in the northern region,so as to promote the integration of regional economy and stimulate the vitality of the northern economy. |
