| Hans Reichenbach is a German philosopher. His inductive logic thought was born mainly to solve the inductive dilemma put forward by Hume. His thought has aroused the discussion of western philosophers, but few people have made in-depth research on his inductive logic thought in China. As an advocate of logical empiricism, the greatest feature of Reichenbach’s inductive logic thought is that he combines the theory of probability with inductive logic, and based on this, forms a set of philosophical thought system that belongs to him. This paper begins with Reichenbach’s introduction of symbols and concepts of probability, and combs his system of probability calculus.Reichenbach used his probabilistic logic deduction system to try to solve Hume’s problem. Before solving Hume’s problem,he reconstructed Hume’s problem.Based on his thorough understanding of Hume’s problem,Reichenbach put forward a pragmatic solution.Although Reichenbach did not completely solve Hume’s problem, his thinking inspired future generations to study Hume’s problem. This paper objectively analyzes the contribution and limitation of Reichenbach’s inductive logic thought by using the methods of literature research, analysis and synthesis and comparative study. From the perspective of scientific epistemology,Reichenbach revised the empirical principle by combining probability with inductive logic, which led us to think about the relationship between induction and deduction, demonstration and experience, and confirmation and falsification. From the perspective of pragmatism, his theory of meaning of probability has revised the theory of meaning of truth that Vienna School has always adhered to,which makes positivism continue to exist and develop. At the same time, this paper also noticed that his probabilistic calculus system is not perfect, and the problems of identification and individual events need further elaboration.. |
