With the development of mobile Internet technology,the dissemination and acquisition of information has become more convenient,and music can penetrate into the daily life of the general public.Obtaining online music information through various mobile music applications has become one of the main entertainment methods for people.In addition,relying on good policies,technology and economic environment,China has launched hundreds of music apps,and the market is highly competitive.How to provide better products,services and user ’s environment,improve the user experience and user stickiness of mobile music application,it is worthy of further discussion.At the same time,due to the ambiguity of music acquisition goals,in many cases,users do not actively acquire music information,but encounter music information when engaging in other activities.Music information encountering have become one of the important ways of music information discovery and acquisition.In view of this,this research starts with the passive music information acquisition behavior of music information encountering,explores the process of music information encountering of mobile music application users and the behavior characteristics of each stage,clarifies the influencing factors and their functional characteristics,so as to improve the theoretical research on information encountering.Inspire mobile music application s to develop products based on user characteristics and behavior patterns,and improve platform content quality and service levels.Qualitative and quantitative methods were used in this study.Firstly,using mobile experience sampling method and interview method to collect data,three-level coding analysis data in grounded theory,extract the behavioral characteristics and influencing factors of each stage in the process of music information encountering,and preliminarily build a theoretical model.Secondly,the questionnaire method was used to collect data,and the difference analysis and correlation analysis were used to analyze the data,so as to verify and explain the influencing factors of music information encounters.The results are as follows:(1)There are three important parts in the process of music information encounter of mobile music APP users: preencounter,information encounter and postencounter.Preencounter,users’ offline activities and online activities are included.Information encounter includes six stages:attention,pause,capture,review,listen and use.Postencounter includes restart,end,open.(2)Four major factors influencing the music information encountering of mobile music application users: information factor,user factor,platform factor and environment factor.Among them,information factors include external characteristics and internal characteristics of information.Internal features refer to information relevance and information novelty.External features refer to information heat,information visibility and information source.User factors include the user’s own cognitive state,personal habits,interests,personal motivation,and music experience.Platform factors mainly include platform service quality and system quality.Quality of service refers to the platform’s search matching,timely message,accurate recommendation,and community interaction;System quality refers to platform openness,smooth operation,and user-friendliness.Environmental factors include physical environment and social environment.(3)Validation and explanation of influencing factors.First,in the background characteristics of individual users,there are significant differences in the frequency of music information encountering among users of different ages,platform history and daily usage time.Users with different genders,ages,educational backgrounds,platform history and daily usage time have significant differences in their behavioral characteristics in each stage of music information encounter.Secondly,it is found that user factors are significantly correlated with the frequency of music information encountering and the behavioral characteristics at all stages of the process.Information factors,platform factors and environmental factors have significant correlation with the frequency of music information encountering and the behavioral characteristics of each stage in the process.According to the conclusions of this empirical study,this study puts forward relevant suggestions for optimizing the information system,services,and product design of mobile music application.
