Analysis Of The Characters And Parts Of Idomeneo In Mozart’s Opera "Idomeneo"

As the first work in the mature period of Mozart’s opera creation,"Idomeneo" is also a breakthrough opera seria work,which has a special significance in the history of opera.This article uses the protagonist Idomeneo in the opera as the research object to make a detailed analysis step by step.The text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is a brief overview of the creation background,creation characteristics and plot development of "Idomeneo".The second chapter is the character analysis of Idomeneo,through the combination of drama analysis and music analysis,with recitative as the starting point,the development route of character psychology in opera is discussed.Chapter 3 is based on the psychological development framework of Idomeneo drawn in Chapter 2,and analyzes the character’s two arias in order to infer the character’s psychological state through changes in musical details.The fourth chapter compares the actual records of the three singers in opera performances,from the perspective of the audience,discusses how different performance teams will interpret the same roles under the same story background and theatrical development route.Through the character analysis of Idomeneo from the above aspects,the author concludes: Idomeneo played a role in promoting the development of the plot in the opera,and the pain in his heart will aggravate with the depth of the plot,so different The states displayed by the characters in the stage are different;under the same musical and dramatic background,the three singers have presented different interpretations of the characters according to their own understanding.It can be concluded from this that although the opera performance has strict Artistic norms,but actors are not a fixed performance machine.While complying with the artistic norms,they will add their own understanding to make the characters more vivid,but if they are completely out of the original framework,they will be carefully designed by the composer.Dramatic discounts,the balance between the two is particularly important.
