A Study On The Auxiliary Words Of Sichuan Luzhou Dialect

This paper aims at the auxiliary words of Sichuan Luzhou dialect.By means of description and analysis,synchronic comparison and diachronic exploration methods,based on static description,this paper makes a comprehensive study about the auxiliary system of Luzhou dialect,which discusses the uses and characteristics of the auxiliary words of Luzhou dialect.It focuses on the auxiliary words which are different from Mandarin and tries to analyze their grammatical meaning and grammatical function.This paper is divided into six chapters.Chapter One“Introduction”:we introduce the general situation of humanities geography and dialects of Luzhou city,and the present study situation on this topic.This chapter,meanwhile,explains the purpose,content,method,style and the source of the corpus of this paper.Chapter Two“The Structural Auxiliary Words of Luzhou Dialect”:we describe and analyze the grammatical meaning and function of four structural auxiliary words such as“嘞[lε³³]”,“得[tε³³]”,“来[lai²¹]”,“得来[tε³³lai²¹]”.And in this chapter,we analyze the potential verb-complement construction“V+得”and other pertinent questions.“嘞[lε³³]”in Luzhou dialect plays a similar role with attributive marker“的”and adverbial marker“地”in Mandarin,and it is a trans-designation marker as well.“得[tε³³]”and“来[lai²¹]”are both the modal complements of Luzhou dialect.“得[tε³³]”and“得来[tε³³lai²¹]”are degree complements of Luzhou dialect.The potential verb-complement construction“V+得”can express objective possibilities as well as subjective possibilities.Chapter Three“The Aspectual Auxiliary of Luzhou Dialect”:we discuss the grammatical meaning and function of accomplished aspect marker“了[l（?）u⁴²]”,the continuous aspect marker“起₁[（?）i⁴²]”and“倒[t（?）u⁴²]”,the initial aspect marker“起₂[（?）i⁴²]”,the experienced aspect marker“来₁[lai²¹]”and“过₁[ko¹³]”,the re-inchoative aspect marker“过₂[ko¹³]”,the pre-inchoative aspect marker“来₂[lai²¹]”and“哆[tu（?）³³]”.And we analyze the difference between“起₁”and“倒”,“来₁[lai²¹]”and“过₁[ko¹³]”.In this chapter,we also discuss the multifunctional usage and grammaticalization of“起”,“过”,“来”with cross-dialect method.As for manner,we analyze the meaning and usage of short-time manner“V（一）下儿”“V（一）下下儿”and“V两下儿”,the tentative manner“V（一）下儿”,“V来看”and“V来告”,the repetitive manner“□[（?）iε³³]V□[（?）iε³³]V”,“一V一V”,“V起V起”,“V倒V倒”,“V（起）去V（起）来”.Chapter Four“The Mood Particle of Luzhou Dialect”:Firstly,we classify the mood particle of Luzhou dialect into four categories such as indicative mood particle,imperative mood particle,interrogative mood particle and interjection mood particle.Then we give detailed description about these mood particles of Luzhou dialect.Secondly,we have detailed description about the interactive function of three special mood particles such as“嘎,得,哈₂”with interactional perspective.The main interactive function of“嘎”is to confirm consensus among speaker and listener.The main interactive function of“得”is to remind listener’s attention,which could express speaker’s purpose and attitude.The main interactive function of“哈₂”is to indicate speaker’s illocutionary intention and the intention of reminding listener’s attention and the intention of obtaining sympathy from listener.Chapter Five“The Other Auxiliary Words of Luzhou Dialect”:we describe and analyze approximate number auxiliaries such as“把,多”,metaphorical auxiliaries such as“（一）样”and“弄个”,and a special auxiliary word“□[lan⁴³]”.This chapter puts an emphasis on the grammatical meaning,grammatical function,pragmatical function and semantic evolution situation of the auxiliary word“□[lan⁴³]”.We hold a view that“□[lan⁴³]”is a combined-syllable word of“拿来[la²¹lai⁵⁵]”,which used as a focus marker in disposal sentence and passive sentence to in Luzhou dialect.Chapter Six“Summary”:We comprehensively explore the characteristics of the auxiliary words system of Luzhou dialect and summarize the mainly content of this paper,pointing out the problems in the paper and the prospects for future research.
