With the rapid development of population aging, society is paying more and more attention to the elderly, and actively developing the cause of the elderly has gradually become an important issue of concern to the government.Entering old age is an important turning point in life, and major changes will occur both in psychological and physical aspects.Physiologically, the deterioration of body functions and the aging of organs make the elderly suffer from diseases;and the psychological level will also be affected by the transformation of social roles and the decline of emotional control, resulting in more or less psychological problems.According to data, the proportion of depression in the elderly in my country is rising,so it is urgent to solve the mental health problems of the elderly.Affected by the traditional concept of home care for the elderly, most of the elderly in our country choose the community non-institutional care for the elderly based on home care. The main concern of this article is how this mode of care affects the mental health of the elderly and their needs. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the specific needs and influencing factors of the community’s mental health status of non-institutional elderly elderly in the community,so as to make suggestions on how to provide them with better mental health services. This study takes Xi’an and its surrounding areas as an example.First, through literature research, the necessity of studying the mental health of the elderly in non-institutional care and the dimensions of measuring the main mental health of the elderly are determined, and the questionnaire and research hypotheses are determined. Then, through questionnaire surveys and interviews, the basic situation of the mental health of the research subjects in the four communities in Xi’an and surrounding areas and the needs of various types of community mental health services were investigated. Finally, through data statistics and analysis,it is concluded that non-institutional elderly people in the four communities in Xi’an and surrounding areas have a greater overall demand for community mental health services.Secondly, there are differences in the degree of demand for different forms of services.Among them, the elderly have the greatest demand for mental health consultation and psychological counseling services.Third, what has a significant impact on the demand for community mental health services is the age, living conditions of non-institutional elderly people, and the implementation of community mental health services. Finally,in the interview,it was also found that the elderly in the community had a more traditional understanding of mental health and the lack of community mental health services.Based on the above conclusions, based on the theory of social support, the author proposes to improve the mental health services for the elderly in non-institutional communities from the perspective of social work, that is,to establish a systematic and diverse path.First, change the people’s perceptions and increase residents’ willingness to participate;second, increase service supply and improve community service effects;third, accurately match demand and build a multi-party linkage platform to better complete the construction of the community’s mental health service system.
