In the 21 st century,Chinese has gradually attracted learners from all over the world.As a result,the compilation of Chinese textbooks has become a common task for scholars all over the world,but how to evaluate a textbook is still an urgent problem to be solved in the field of international Chinese education.Based on the analysis of the concept and principles of the compilation of Boya Chinese,this paper put forward some suggestions on the compilation of Chinese textbooks.Boya Chinese is a series of textbooks published by Peking University for Chinese learners.In order to better adapt to intermediate Chinese learners,Boya Chinese(Medium)has specially set up a quasi-intermediate accelerating section and intermediate section to offer assistance for intermediate Chinese learners,which have been widely used overseas.This essay mainly focused the textbook of Boya Chinese(Medium)the study its catalog,vocabulary,language points,texts,exercises,summaring the number,degree of difficulty and the forms of the vocabularies.Compared with the “Chinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Grade Outline Chinese Characters"(2001),it was found that there was an increasing trend in volume one and two of the textbook.Boya Chinese is most suitable for students’ learning,but there are so many strange words to the learners,and it is not enough for them.The analysis of language points,this paper developed on the basis of both quantity and degree of difficulty.After compared with the Chinese Proficiency Grading Standard and Grammar Grading Outline(1996),it was found that the language points in the two volumes were too difficult and too few.Although there were various kinds of exercises in the textbook,some problems such as unclear expression and unreasonable distribution of question types still existed.This paper analyzed and summarized these problems,and tried to put forward suggestions on the compilation of textbooks from the four aspects,including text,vocabulary,grammar and the exercises so as to provide a reference for textbook writers. |
