Mary Cassatt’s "Mirror Image Painting":Expression Of Female Consciousness In Ceramic Painting

Feminist art which has been transformed considerably in the new era,constitutes a significant portion of culture.Female image which is considered as one of the most prominent narrative objects of artistic creation,has been constantly redefined in the contemporary art scenes.The author analyzes the art works of Mary Cassatt as one of the most iconic and prolific American female artists who was fond of depicting female consciousness in mirror image painting.In other words,she has created the images of females by using porcelain plate painting as a medium.Besides,the author attempts to explore the new characteristics of contemporary feminism,and present systematically the personal understanding of the contemporary features of feminism with new media platform.Furthermore,the current research study combines the existing developments of contemporary feminism,which connect the mirror image with feminists perspective,and presents creative art with the help of porcelain plate.It can be concluded that Mary Cassatt has portrayed the new painting style of contemporary women in the new painting media,and integrated some new characteristics into feminist art.
