On The Portrayal Strategies Of Character Documentary Films

In the creation of character documentaries,character creation is the top priority,and the creation of group portraits is a difficult point in the creation of character documentaries.Compared with general documentaries,group portrait documentaries have more objects,and there is no single main character.How to deal with the relationship between character commonality and individuality in group portrait documentaries has become an important topic in the shaping of group portraits in character documentaries.This dissertation is based on the author’s own actual creative experience,centered on the interpretation of the graduation work documentary "Sifang Yuan",and discusses the group portrait shaping strategy of the character documentary,hoping to provide some inspiration for this important subject,and also to my own creation To summarize and explain.The creation of group portraits in character documentaries needs to avoid writing the characters in a flat style,but to focus on the theme of the work and capture the story and emotional factors behind the characters,so as to achieve the simultaneous progress of characterization and theme communication.The characters in the documentary "Sifangyuan" come from the same big family,share the same feelings of family and country,and all have similar artistic talents in painting.However,these characters have their own different personalities and talents.In the creation of the documentary "Sifang Yuan",the author has always consciously put the characterization of group portraits as the top priority,integrating this task into each link of pre-research,program planning,character interviews,lens design,post-editing and overall packaging.in.The discussion of this thesis is mainly centered on the interview strategy of shaping the character group in "Sifang Yuan",the narrative strategy of shaping the character group in "Sifang Yuan",and the lens strategy of shaping the character group in "Sifang Yuan".
